Autumn Wellbeing Workshops 2026

‘Osteoporosis and Bone Health: Move with Confidence’
with Sarah Kearney, Pilates Teacher & Buff Bones® Instructor

Saturday 10th October | 10am–12pm
Pilates Evolved, Henfield

If you’ve been diagnosed with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia, you may have been told that exercise is important for your bone health — but knowing exactly what to do, what’s helpful and how to exercise confidently can sometimes feel a little less clear.

  • Can I carry on with Pilates?
  • Should I be lifting weights?
  • What sort of exercise is good for my bones?
  • Are there movements I should approach differently?

Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed, have been living with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia for some time, or simply want to feel more confident adapting your exercise and movement, this workshop is designed to give you practical guidance, greater understanding and more confidence in your body.

Book now – small group workshop — 9 places available for Saturday 10th October

What we’ll explore:

Strength, balance, mobility & coordination

We’ll look at why all four matter for healthy, resilient bones and joints, and how they can be incorporated into the way you exercise.

Pilates with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia

Can you continue with Pilates? Absolutely — but there may be some movements that are better approached differently. Sarah will explore useful options and adaptations that can be taken into a group Pilates class.

Resistance & weight-bearing exercise

We’ll introduce ways to build strength using bands, hand weights and appropriate low-impact movement, and look at how resistance and weight-bearing exercise can support bone health.

Everyday movement

Bone health isn’t only about what happens during an exercise class. We’ll practise useful everyday movement skills, including bending well and getting safely and confidently down to the floor and back up again.

Building good foundations

We’ll explore form, posture and movement quality, helping you build a strong foundation from which you can gradually progress your exercise and strength work.

What to expect:

This is not two hours of sitting and listening!

There’ll be a lovely mixture of discussion, practical movement, Pilates and exercise, both on the mat and standing, with plenty of opportunity to ask Sarah questions along the way. Everything will be adaptable, so you can work at a level that feels appropriate for you.

Our aim is for you to leave feeling better informed, more confident in your body and clearer about how movement and exercise can support your bone and joint health. No need to arrive knowing all the answers — come along, ask questions, get curious and enjoy moving with us.
